The short version: Duplicate Photo Remover does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything happens on your device. We don't have servers, we don't track you, and we don't share anything with anyone.
This Privacy Policy describes how Duplicate Photo Remover ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use our iOS application. This policy applies to all users of the App.
We want to be very clear: we do not collect any personal data from you. Specifically:
Duplicate Photo Remover scans your iPhone's Photos library locally on your device to identify duplicate photos. This means:
The App requests access to your Photos library through Apple's standard iOS permissions system. This access is required for the App to function — without it, we cannot scan for duplicates.
When you delete photos using the App, they are moved to the "Recently Deleted" album in iOS. They remain there for 30 days and can be recovered during that period directly from the iOS Photos app. After 30 days, iOS permanently deletes them. We do not control or have access to this process — it is handled entirely by Apple's iOS.
If you grant only "Limited Access" instead of "Full Access" to your Photos library, the App will only be able to scan the specific photos you have selected. You can change this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Duplicate Photo Remover.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any user, this naturally extends to children.
The App does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics platforms. We use only Apple's built-in iOS frameworks (PhotoKit, SwiftUI, CryptoKit) which are part of iOS itself.
The App stores minimal data locally on your device using standard iOS UserDefaults:
This data never leaves your device and is automatically removed if you uninstall the App.
Because we do not collect or transmit any data, there is no risk of your information being intercepted, breached, or exposed by us. Your photos remain protected by your iPhone's standard security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
Since we do not collect any personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) do not apply because there is no data for us to access, correct, delete, or transfer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
This App and its data practices comply with:
